"crack pots"

We are all just a bunch of "crack pots"! That's what we discovered in prayer Tuesday night. I gotta tell ya, if you aren't there; you are REALLY missing out! You can just feel the Holy Spirit moving! I never know how to pray and am pretty intimidated sometimes. Yet on Tuesday night it just doesn't matter! It was really awesome because Pastor Ron, Tim, Caroline and Bonnie walked around the neighborhood handing out flyers re: Gleaners and they each had the opportunity to pray with someone! Pam and I came later and were fortunate enough to hear their stories. Maybe these people are not coming to our church on Sunday. Maybe they aren't going anywhere yet. But we are having an impact! There is no way that we are not! Guys, I mean everyone, this is what church is all about! It's NOT about the Sunday morning service! It's about all those days in between. It's about us being cracked and letting our light shine through! Building trust, building relationships. For the past few months I feel as though I sealed up my pot. And I don't even know how it happened! And last night God took a hammer to me and broke me all to pieces. I need Him so much. But we all need each other too! I know that we have been going through some tough times with Pastor Ron losing his mom and well; just so many needs within our family. But He is faithful. We are ALL growing in Him! Let's always remember to pray each and every day. All the time. We were so red hot and on fire Feb, March and April and then warm weather hit and well...just look at our blog and how many posts there are for May....Let's light that fire once again! Let's not let the enemy sell us his lies. I just know we are about to explode so you had all better be ready!

Thank you so much Pam for this picture and this reminder to us that we are all just a bunch of crack pots! Please pray more often! You have such a beautiful and a powerful gift! Sal

email to church family

Hi everyone,
Seeing all these prayers makes me sad and and happy all at the same time. Why does it make me sad? Because I am missing the Tuesday night prayer time. This is something that I really feel is important for our church in order that we grow (spiritually) and are sure to walk in the direction God has in mind for us. I'm happy because we ARE a church that prays. I admit that sometimes I am impatient while during church the list grows and grows but I realize this is the enemy telling me this. And I read this list of prayers and am thankful I belong to a family of believers where I am comfortable - where everyone is comfortable with sharing their needs. Who cares how long the list grows? I feel certain that God is smiling down upon our little church family and he is blessed.

Pastor Ron, I will share this with you for everyone to hear because we all need lifting up now and then. I was having a conversation with one of my sons and he said to me. (And I have it all mixed up the WAY he said it, but the jist of it was): I really think Pastor Ron is awesome. I mean, look at everything he has done for our family. He is so down to earth and well, just a regular person but yet you can just tell he loves the Lord. I believe he is right for our church. I have so much respect for him. These are the words from an 18 year old. :0) (I hope it's OK to put this here for all to see, but it's important that people know-I think)

I'll be gone again on Tuesday night. Pray for me (and Dean) for we are both working out of town and both wish to be there. I thought about asking to change the time but then it would conflict with someone else's schedule. And we won't have to be working like this forever. Anyhow, I just wanted to share that with you all.

We love you and will be praying for you Tim. :0) (Tim will be leading the service this Sunday)You will do awesome! (as usual) :0)

Blessings! And blessings for this beautiful day of sunshine! Dean and I are going riding on the bike today-our first cruise of the summer!

Prayer for Today

Steve Sjogren (of Serve and multiple other sites) encourages servant evangelism - another way to say externally focused. He writes this prayer:

"Here I am God. Love through me - the real me. Ignite me - the real me. Invite many through me - the real me. Thank you for your invitation to me that I am - as I am!
Let the filters fall.
Let all in me be ignited by the flame of God.
I agree with you God - You can move through me and that provides life.
[Help me] Notice what is going on through me … I cease hesitating, I engage with you - let the world change."
